OUR PILLARS

01
MADE IN THE U.K
Keeping our manufacturing close to home is a priority for us. This allows us to maintain a transparent supply chain with ethical manufacturing and ensures the best quality for our customers.
We believe in a win win situation for both curator and client. Where the maker is paid a fair living wage and the client receives a beautiful high quality piece by a brand they can trust.

02
RESCUED + SUSTAINABLE
Our first collection was created using rescued fabric which had been diverted from landfill and
given a new life. This limits wastage starting with what’s already been produced as well as
providing limited edition pieces to help slow fashion down.
Our second collection ‘Interrupted’ expanded our use of sustainable fabric. Much of the collection was crafted using biodegradable materials such as Tencel and Bamboo Silk.

03
TRANSSEASONAL + TIMELESS
Versatility is of the utmost importance to increase the lifespan of a garment, reducing the
impact on the environment and combat against a throw away culture.
Out of Sync’s vision is to curate your wardrobe essentials to be treasured beyond each season.
Creating seasonless collections each outfit can transition from day to night, from summer to winter. Ageless design through thoughtful layering means these pieces can be loved for a lifetime.

04
MADE TO LAST
High quality pieces are essential for increasing the lifespan of your clothes. This slows down the process of replacement which reduces mass consumption and limits wastage.
The three founders have a background in garment construction and an eye for detail. Combined with the world-renowned U.K industry standards in manufacturing, having a local supply chain allows them to remain close to the manufacturing process to carry out a high standard of quality checking.

05
SCRAPS TO SCRUNCHIES
Another pillar of our sustainability is to up-cycle the smaller remnants left over from the
collections into scrunchies and further smaller offcuts are donated to art schools.
This helps us limit wastage and along the way help people to create art.

06
RECYCABLE + BIODEGRADABLE
As well as our collections we are passionate about our packaging being eco-friendly.
Currently our pieces are hand wrapped in acid free, 100% biodegradable and recyclable tissue paper, 100% recycled brown paper and FSC approved paper for our envelopes that can be recycled, before being sent on their way to the customer waiting in anticipation.
OUR PROGRESS
OUR PROGRESS
ON THE FRINGE | FABRIC

RESCUED FABRIC
The rescued fabric in this collection has been diverted from landfill and given a new life. Often these fabrics are saved from cancelled orders and missed payments at the mills.
We don’t want to see these beautiful fabrics go to waste and it allows us to provide limited edition pieces to help slow fashion down and provide our clients with rare and exclusive pieces.

SUSTAINABLE FABRIC
In the beginning sourcing sustainable fabric at a reasonable cost for our customers was a
struggle, but as our network has grown so have our resources.
We have learnt so much on our
journey and along the way we have been shocked by the impact of our choices, as well as
excited by the new possibilities and inventions happening within the industry. We believe it is our responsibility that we are always learning and always improving.

NON-BIODEGRADABLE FABRIC
Often this refers to the stretch fabric within our collections as elastane inhibits the fabrics ability to biodegrade.
We believe stretch can help increase the versatility and longevity of an item but sourcing a sustainable replacement for our stretch fabrics is a priority.
We have always limited these purchases to under 100 meters.
INTERRUPTED | FABRIC

WOOL
Wool is one of the most naturally technical materials. This fabric has antibacterial properties that reduce the need for frequent washing as well as being breathable and long lasting.
Wool does not shed microplastics which can negatively affect ocean health. As wool is a natural fibre, it is renewable and biodegradable.
We have recently learnt that improvements are needed within the wool industry and we need to be better at sourcing recycled and organic wool.

TENCEL
TENCEL™ Lyocell help to maintain the environmental balance by being integrated into nature's cycle. The fibers originate from the renewable raw material wood, created by photosynthesis.
The certified biobased fibers are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process. The fibers are certified as compostable and biodegradable, and thus can fully revert back to nature.

BAMBOO SILK
Bamboo absorbs five times more carbon and produces 35 times more oxygen than a similar-sized stand of trees. It requires no fertiliser and self-regenerates from its own roots.
Our Bamboo Silk has been produced without the use of harmful chemicals, and the fibres are naturally biodegradable.
